Plenty of studios teach lessons. Very few are led by faculty with these credentials — and fewer still make them this accessible to families in Mason.
Both directors hold terminal degrees from top conservatories — the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and The Ohio State University. The caliber of teacher most students never encounter is the standard here, not the exception.
Dr. Karen Kim is the Ohio representative for ABRSM — the internationally recognized examining board itself. Students preparing for graded exams learn from someone who works directly with the board. That's not something another studio in this region can offer.
Dr. Jaesung Kim performed at Carnegie Hall as an American Protégé International Piano Competition winner. When your child sits down for a lesson, they're working with a pianist who has stood on that stage.
Musical Moments was founded in 2018 by Dr. Jaesung Kim and is co-directed with Dr. Karen Kim — both active performers and nationally recognized educators.

Mason City Schools has one of the most decorated music programs in Ohio. The district's orchestra program serves over 1,000 string students in grades 6–12 and has earned unanimous superior ratings at state adjudicated events — and the Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony have performed at Carnegie Hall.
Many Musical Moments students play in Mason City Schools ensembles and come to us to prepare for orchestra placement auditions, All-State tryouts, and OMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival. Our violin faculty member Sean Chen performs with the Mason Symphony Orchestra, so preparation here connects directly to the community your student performs in.
